I simply adore my Fitbit and all the tracking it’s capable of reporting. But now I love it even more because of the fact that it blends in with my style. I feel so fashionably fit as I wear this lovely gold bracelet by Tory Burch which houses my Fitbit tracking device. Cleverly fashionable. Well played Tory Burch & Fitbit. Well played.
As a child, my mom and grandmother would boil barley and serve it with chopped walnuts, sugar and sometimes a squeeze of lemon juice. When I was younger I didn’t really know the health benefits of various grains but I did know that I liked the taste.
Last night I created a batch for this morning’s breakfast and it was delightful. I used the same chopped walnuts that I remember but I substituted trivia in for sugar.
When we went to Vegas a few years ago we visited Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill restaurant. My husband ordered the coffee rubbed steak as his entree and he absolutely adored it. I later bought him the Mesa Grill cookbook as a trip souvenir.
The cookbook came out last night for dinner. We ate the steak along with broccoli and an eggplant, tomato, cucumber and feta salad.
We went out to a new restaurant for Valentine’s Day. After a lovely day at home with our boys we slipped out to have dinner at The Meeting House in downtown Rochester. The atmosphere was trend yet rustic. We split the caprese salad (tomato and mozzarella) for a healthy appetizer. I selected the Caesar salad with grilled chicken for my main meal. It was the most adorably presented salad. I’m looking forward to going back again!
