Barley Breakfast

As a child, my mom and grandmother would boil barley and serve it with chopped walnuts, sugar and sometimes a squeeze of lemon juice. When I was younger I didn’t really know the health benefits of various grains but I did know that I liked the taste. 

Last night I created a batch for this morning’s breakfast and it was delightful. I used the same chopped walnuts that I remember but I substituted trivia in for sugar.
